The Journal of Latin American Communication Research invites academics and researchers to send manuscripts and proposals to the Volume 3, Issue 1, dedicated to “Social Networking and Activism”.
The issue looks for papers that expand or critique our understanding about new ways of participation through the use of traditional and new media in the Latin American context. How is the region facing the formation of a networked society? How are politics and democracy changing? Who are the current activists and leaders? How do social media contribute to the change of social practices? What is the real impact of new ways of associations for the society? What is the role of communications defining citizenship?
Submission deadline: 15 December 2012. Issue editor is Carlos Arcila <carcila@uninorte.edu.co>
