Ørecomm started as an inter-university consortium between Malmö University (MAH) in Sweden and Roskilde University (RUC) in Denmark. Participants initially came from different departments at these universities, but Ørecomm has expanded to include also co-operants from other universities. The administration of the consortium is in care of co-directors Oscar Hemer (Malmö, Sweden) and Thomas Tufte (Roskilde, Denmark).
