Lecture: Oscar Hemer on Global Histories

by Ulrica on 2013 May 3 16:23

OscarHemerOscar Hemer, professor at Malmö University and co-director of Ørecomm, gives a lecture under the title ‘Global Histories Through the Lens of Fiction’ at Roskilde University on 8 May.

The lecture will be held as part of the seminar ‘What Time is Global History?’ –  an event that brings together four prominent researchers in the globalization field.

‘Global History’ is one of many terms that have emerged to explain the political, economic and social changes that followed the Cold War. Most researchers agree that the world of today is global, but there has been a lively debate with regard to the historical perspectives. When did we start to use the term Global History? And why? Is the term unique for our time?

See the full program and register here.

Time and place:
8 May 2013, 13:00-17:00
Roskilde University, Auditorium 45

The seminar will also be live-streamed here.
