The Nordic conference for Literary Researchers, NorLit 2009, was organized in Stockholm 6-9 August on the theme Codex and Code – Aesthetics, Language, and Politics in an Age of Digital Media. Ørecomm co-director Oscar Hemer participated in a panel on Law and Literature, presenting a working paper from his research project Fiction’s Truth, entitled “One Must Speak, One Cannot Speak – Fiction, Memory and Genre Hybridity in Transitional South Africa and Argentina” (download pdf). Earlier variations on the theme were presented at the Banye readings, organized by the New Literary Observer magazine, in Moscow in April, and at the LA-Net Conference, New Thinking on Citizenship, Power and Public Space in Latin America, at Roskilde University in June.
