CfP: Journal of Latin American Communication Research
See below the call for papers for the first issue of Journal of Latin American Communication Research. The theme of the inaugural issue is Freedom of Expression and Media Pluralism in Latin America. Submission deadline: 30 December 2010.
JLACR invites novel and innovative research articles addressing academic and practical issues on communication studies. This issue of JLACR is seeking papers that expand or critique our understanding of the interplay between media and freedom of expression and media pluralism in Latin America. How is the development of media in the region? How is the relationship of Governments and press? What are limits of freedom of expression in Latin-American countries? What is the impact of new technologies on the development of freedom of expression? How is being incorporated political, race and ideology pluralism in media? How media discourses are promoting integration in the region? Are old and new media contributing to democracy in Latin America? How can media professional training help the development of freedom of expression? What are the main indicators of pluralism in media? Even when these questions do not limit the reception of manuscripts, they orientate the topics of this issue.
The JLACR will be published as an Open Access journal.
