Norad, Oslo: Film Launch with Seminar

Protection; Men and Condoms in the time of HIV and AIDS will be launched at a combined seminar and film screening at Norad, Oslo, on 17 November 2010. See the full programme here.

Protection; Men and Condoms … is a resource film which is meant to stir discussions on the significance of condoms in ongoing HIV prevention initiatives. Avoiding moralising, this documentary is filmed from lives of men and boys in South Africa, Kenya and Sierra Leone. The free DVD includes short pieces explaining condom use and graphic representations of how HIV spreads through unprotected sex across a life timeline. On the DVD, the film can be played in English, French, Portuguese, Swahili, Chichewa, Zulu and Hausa. With its facilitator’s guide, the film will be a catalyst for groups to examine the condom issues men encounter in the real contexts of their lives.
