Conference: Cyberactivism Changing the World?
A conference on social media and Arab women in the uprising
Women in Middle East and North Africa use Facebook and Twitter to document and report on abuse. With their fellow countrymen they mobilise protests and turn down regimes. A number of award winner women journalists, analysts and bloggers comment on the role of women in the democracy movements, and on how social media have contributed to historical changes in the region.
Monday 9 May 2011, 9:00 to 16:30 hrs, at Royal Library, Copenhagen. Arranged by Dansk PEN. Registration required: cyberkonference@kvinfo.dk. Download flyer here (pdf).
