Cyber Satire and En-Passant-Media

En-Passant-Media and Cyber Satire are themes to be covered in lectures by Jakob Dittmar and Hilde Arntsen during the ComDev master’s seminar:

3—4 June 2011, at Malmö University.

These lectures are scheduled to take place Friday and Saturday morning at 9:30 to 12:00 in room B105, Östra Varvsgatan 11 A, Malmö.

Jakob Dittmar’s lecture will introduce the so-called En-Passant-Media. These consist of objects whose primary use is not communication but other functions. En-Passant-Media that Jakob will explore in this presentation include grafitti, tattoos and other signs that are filling our public spheres.

The title of Hilde Arntsen’s lecture is “Cyber Satire and the Quest for Alternative Communicative Spaces: New Media in Zimbabwean Diasporas”, and will be based on her own doctoral work in Zimbabwe.
