Options for Women’s political participation

“Options for Women’s political participation”, a one-day conference to be held in Copenhagen, Thursday 8 December 2011 at 08:30-17:00. See programme here.

Political violence, discriminatory legislation, and patriarchal attitudes are important challenges to women’s political participation. Civil society actors and researchers will address barriers and develop recommendations to strengthen women’s influence in countries in transition in North and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The conference is part of the international campaign 16 days of activism against gender violence, and is organised by Africa Contact, Gendernet and the Danish Institute for Human Rights.
