Danish-Brazilian research co-operation:
Media, Citizen and Government Relations
The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation (Styrelsen for Forskning og Innovation) has granted € 42 000 (DKK 313 000) to a network of Danish and Brazilian communication researchers. The group is led by Ørecomm co-director Thomas Tufte. Ørecomm is further represented by Norbert Wildermuth, and participants from Brazil include Nilda Jacks (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul), Cicilia Peruzzo (Universidade Metodista, São Paulo), and César Bolaño (Universidade Federal do Sergipe).
The network is on Media, Citizen and Government Relations. The scientific focus of this research thus centers around understanding the role of media (technologies) and communication (processes and strategies) in citizen-government relationships.
The grant will cover Danish-Brazilian research seminars in Roskilde, Denmark (September 2012) and in Brazil (November 2012).
