IDC: Sharing information on development related opportunities
International Development Communities (IDC) is sharing development related information on its website, e.g. on funding opportunities.
Working with the principle of CONNECTING, SHARING and INSPIRING IDC provides an opportunity for development organizations and professionals to Connect, Share and Inspire the rest of the world with what they have been doing in their communities/Country.
Among the opportunities available now are:
- Open Society Foundations’ Grants Program: Request for Proposals “Fighting Torture in Health Care”. It is seeking proposals from NGOs to implement proposals from organizations interested in using one or more of the mechanisms described in its recently published training manual to advance existing advocacy efforts to address torture in health care and ensure government accountability. Deadline: 1 September 2012.
- AusAID’s Human Rights Grants Scheme 2012-2013: Grants of up to $100,000 available. This is a competitive grant opportunity and funding is provided for the prevention or ending of human rights violations, promoting positive change in government policies, monitoring and reporting on human rights violations, educating human rights victims, workers or defenders, promoting the implementation of international human rights standards and strengthening human rights institutions and mechanisms. Deadline: 1 October 2012.
