CfP: Nordmedia 2013

The Nordmedia 2013 conference theme is “Defending Democracy” – the theme thus linked to the media’s relationship to democracy and free speech. The conference title, “Defending Democracy. Nordic and global diversities in media and journalism”, points to the central role the media have in democracies and processes of democratization.

Nordmedia 2013 takes place in Oslo, 8-11 August. Abstracts are due 15 February 2013. For more information, see conference web site.

Papers will be presented and discussed in twelve “divisions”. Most interesting to friends of Orecomm: “Media, Globalization and Social Change”, chaired by Ylva Ekström (Malmö & Orecomm) with Mari Maasilta (Helsinki).
