Help Develop Tech Solutions for Rural Markets

by Ulrica on 2014 January 24 16:06

Are you a student or social entrepreneur in the field of technology, design, and development? Are you interested in working with ICT4D in rural emerging market contexts?

If the answer is yes, here’s an opportunity to take part in a new innovation startup project that will be launched in Copenhagen on 30 January 2014. The aim is to develop new tech solutions for rural emerging markets – products that can create local value.

Behind the project stands a network of academics, professionals and social entrepreneurs, including Ørecomm member Jonas Agerbæk Jeppesen.

We believe that connecting rural areas in emerging markets and developing countries could significantly improve people’s access to healtcare, education, creation of sustainable infrastructure and in general increasing standard of life.

We have knowledge about technologies which could enable this process, we have motivated social entrepreneurs, designers and engineers who are willing to drive the change and also representatives of the target countries who look for business opportunities in Denmark.

By bringing people together in innovation teams, the goal is to come up with pilot projects, ready for testing in real life.
