2 PhD and 1 Post-doctoral research in Data Activism

The five-year project “Data activism: The politics of big data according to civil society” has been awarded a Starting Grant of the European Research Council, and will be based at the Department of Media Studies of the University of Amsterdam.

Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Development and Media

This position is a part of the Research project “New media practices in a changing Africa” financed by the Norwegian Research Council. The project is a comparative study, involving four African countries, that aims at providing insights into the relationship between broader socio-economic change and new media practices.

Position requires to conduct approximately half a year fieldwork in South Africa in 2016, and then apply generated data to the analytical framework of the project. Deadline for application is 14 June. Please find further details here.
