Leicester calling: Grants offered by IAMCR
26 travel grants, the Herbert Schiller Award, the Urban Communication Research Grant, and a Climate Change Communication Research award are offered owing to IAMCR conference in Leicester in July 2016.
International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) is offering a number of grants and awards in conjunction with the conference, which will take place in Leicester, UK during the last week of July 2016 (27-31). Scholars are encouraged to apply for the following grants:
Travel Grants: Twenty-six travel grants of up to US$1,500 will be made available to early-stage scholars who are members in good standing, reside in low and middle income countries and have papers accepted for presentation at the upcoming conference. More details could be found here.
Herbert I. Schiller Award: The IAMCR prize in memory of Herbert I. Schiller will be awarded for a paper which combines scholarly excellence with a commitment to developing and extending the critical, innovative and engaged spirit. Graduate students and early-career scholars are invited to apply. For details, visit http://iamcr.org/awards/schiller2016.
UCF/IAMCR Urban Communication Research Grant: Funded by the Urban Communication Foundation, this grant supports communication and media research that advance our understanding of the growing complexity of the urban environment. The grant is open to all IAMCR members in good standing. More information is available at http://iamcr.org/ucf-iamcr-research-grant/2016.
Deadline for all applications is 15 April.
Also, you can nominate a scholar, whose research has had a notable positive impact on the practice of climate communication, for Climate Change Communication Research in Action Award. The award is launched by IAMCR in cooperation with the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA). Nominees do not need to be members of IAMCR or the IECA (yet only members of IAMCR or the IECA can submit nominations). Find out more here and submit nominations by 6 May.
