Screening: “The Act of Killing”

The_Act_of_Killing_(2012_film)“The Act of Killing” is a documentary film directed by Joshua Oppenheimer. In just a few months it has been awarded a large number of prizes. It is a controversial film: “A documentary that challenges former Indonesian death squad leaders to reenact their real-life mass-killings in whichever cinematic genres they wish, including classic Hollywood crime scenarios and lavish musical numbers”. The screening of this ‘director’s cut’ (159 min) is organized in co-operation with Folkets Bio Malmö, Nordisk Panorama, ARF – Film and culture for human rights and Doc Lounge Malmö.

Tickets

The screening is a part of the Ørecomm Festival 2013 but is also open to non-participants in the festival. You can either book your ticket below, or take a chance and show up at the venue. The screening is free of charge. Festival participants do NOT need to book tickets for the film. Booking here opens 2 September and closes 11 September.

Booking

  1. Register below – each person can book up to three tickets.
  2. Pick up your ticket at IM Fairtrade in central Malmö during the below hours. No ticket if you haven’t registered first.
              Thursday 12 Sep: 11 am-6 pm
              Friday 13 Sep: 11 am-6 pm
              Saturday 14 Sep: 11 am-1 pm
  3. Left over tickets will be handed out on first-come basis at the venue (Orkanen, D138) on 14 September, from 3 pm.
