Do you know about aflatoxins? Or the health problems they cause in most developing countries? Probably not much. Nick Quist wants to do something about it. He writes:

“The initiative is in collaboration with research institutes in Tanzania (Mtwara) and in Malawi (Lilongwe) that are already working in plant breeding and farmer training with a view towards aflatoxin.

My own involvement with them during the course of this year has focused mostly on trying to find out who communicates with whom in the groundnut sector. And next to that, to encourage more expression (and sharing) of information between the different stakeholders in order to stimulate greater dialogue about aflatoxin and what different people in the groundnut value chain (including policy makers) can do to mitigate its effects. …”
